Departmental News of Mechanical Engineering (Polytechnic):
The Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) was held to foster communication between parents and teachers, providing an opportunity to discuss student progress, department policies, and collaborative efforts to enhance the educational experience.
Objectives
- To update parents on their students academic performance and behavior.
- To discuss department initiatives and upcoming events.
- To strengthen the partnership between parents and the department community.
Meeting Overview
The meeting commenced at 11:00 AM and lasted until 12:00 PM, with a turnout of approximately 75% of parents.
The Parent-Teacher Meeting was a constructive platform for discussing student progress and strengthening the department community. The active participation of parents demonstrated their commitment to their students education.
Department of Mechanical Engineering (Polytechnic) conducted industrial visit at Radha Krishna Cold Storage and Utkarsh Transmission Pvt Ltd Satara on 20th September 2024 for the all students of department.
An industrial visit was organized for Mechanical engineering department students to provide practical insights into the manufacturing processes and operations of a real-world facility. The visit aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and industry practice.
Objectives
- To observe the manufacturing processes in action.
- To understand the application of engineering principles in an industrial setting.
- To interact with industry professionals and gain insights into career opportunities.
The industrial visit was a valuable experience that provided students with firsthand knowledge of manufacturing operations. The insights gained will enhance their understanding of engineering applications in the real world.
Department of Mechanical Engineering (Polytechnic) celebrated a Engineer’s Day in the Department on 14th September 2024 for the all students of department.
Engineers' Day is celebrated to honour the contributions of engineers in building and shaping our modern world. This year, our school organized an engaging event to recognize the achievements of engineers and inspire students to pursue careers in engineering.
Activities Overview
The celebration commenced at 11:30 AM onwards and featured a variety of activities designed to educate and entertain students while celebrating the engineering profession.
On the occasion of engineer’s day department has arranged the different technical events like Junk Yard and CAD Master. This activity was coordinated by Mr. Y. J. Potdar. The Engineers' Day celebration was a great success, providing a platform for students to appreciate the field of engineering. The event not only celebrated engineers' contributions but also inspired the next generation to think critically and innovate.
Department of Mechanical Engineering (Polytechnic) celebrated a Teacher’s Day in the Department on 5th September 2024 for the all students of department.
Teachers' Day is celebrated annually to honor the contributions of teachers and educators in shaping the future of students. This year, our department organized a vibrant celebration that brought together students, teachers to express gratitude and appreciation.
For this activity the chief Guset was Mr. R. S. Khandekar, Head, Department of General Science & Humanities, YTC Satara have shared their valuable thoughts.
All Head of Respective department, all the faculties & students of Mechanical Department was present for this activity.
The Mechanical Engineering Student Association “MESA” has been Orgnized on 01st September for the academic year of 2023-24 by the chief guest Mr. D.V. Godase., Founder, Komal New life foundation, Satara. On behalf of Mechanical Engineering (Polytechnic) Department honorable HoD Prof. R. H. Basugade welcomed the chief guest.
He briefed about the previous year’s activities conducted by MESA & some industry oriented
Event to be included in this year. Mr. Godase D. V. delivered speech on awareness of organ donation of students. He made students aware about futuristic things of Engineers. After finishing his lecture, students quoted many questions and ended with an interactive session. Mr. Godase D.V. of all students. President of MESA (2023-24) has given the vote of thanks. This program was anchored by Mr. Sahil Shaha.
The MESA was Inaugrated on 15th September 2023. The MESA is formed to bring about the technical as well as social development of students by organizing seminars, workshops and other activities and also to improve non-technical abilities of students by generating good communication skills, managerial abilitie, presentation skills and teamwork.
Department of Mechanical Engineering (Polytechnic) successfully conducted a Quiz competition in the college on 15th September 2023-24 for the all students of college. Rules and regulations of the quiz were explained at the beginning. It was interesting one-round competition, including objective questions which engaged the students for one hour.
The goal of the Event Quiz competitions is always interesting and informative, which keeps the students interested. The primary goal of this event is to educate them on current general knowledge in Science and Technology, Current Affairs, Sports, Business, and Entertainment. The program commenced at 11 am and concluded at 12pm. The students showcased their brilliance by rapidly answering the questions.
The MESA (Mechanical Engineering Students Association) of Yashoda College of engineering and technology (polytechnic) organized a Guest lecture on Road Safety Awareness on 15th September 2023. The guest speaker Mrs. Shital Ghadage and Mrs. Archana Raut (AMVI ), Satara District was heartily welcomed by Mr. R.S. Khandekar, HoD of General Science Department.
MESA hosted a guest speaker programme to create awareness about road safety, among the al students.
Road safety is a measure adopted to reduce the risk of road accidents and roadside injuries caused due to driving errors. Everyone needs to be aware of the traffic rules, especially children and youngsters who are at a significant risk while on the roads. Road Safety Education is of utmost importance for reducing road accidents.
The road safety officers shared certain guidelines that one should follow to protect oneself and others from road accidents. Basic awareness about vehicles, usage of vehicle lights and horns, mandatory wearing of helmets and seat belts, correct usage of rearview mirrors, maintaining correct speed limits, knowledge of traffic signs and the ability to handle crisis situations were some of the important points that were discussed to help the students develop a better understanding of Road Safety.
Students enthusiastically participated in this informative session. Their queries were clarified by the guest speakers. The programme culminated with a vote of thanks proposed by the Mr. R.H. Basugade, HoD of Mechanical department.
A Parent-Teachers Meeting was conducted on 03-02-2024 from 11:00 am – 01.30 pm. The parents were intimated through the GFM of each class by calling well in advance through class teachers and Guardian Faculty Members.
The main objective of the meeting was to create a common platform, where teachers and parents come together to discuss student’s performance and devise ways to enrich their learning experience. Total 22 parents were present for this meeting.
The academic Activities conducted by Department were explained or presented by departmental Academic Coordinator Prof. Y. J. Potdar to all the present parents such as for improvement of student performance institute were conducted the unit wise test series, different industrial visit, some expert lectures etc.
Polytechnic Principal Prof. P. P. Gavade have addressed to all parents and give valuable guidelines and Institute future plan.
Some parents have given their feedback regarding the Institute and academic activities done by each department and they were satisfied with the all activities done by department.

Department of Mechanical engineering organized PARENTS MEETING on 03/02/2024
Yashoda college of Engineering and Polytechnic had organized an industrial visit on 23rd February 2024 to Avalon power pvt, ltd located in Urmodi, Satara for the students of Mechanical Engineering.
The visit was organized by HOD of Mechanical engineering branch Prof. R. H. Basugade
Mr. A. B. Pawar & Mr. P. Nikalje were the co-coordinators Faculty for the industrial visit.
We started travelling from the college campus at 10:30 am via our college bus. Totally 30 students along with 2 coordinators faculty were there in the journey. Department of Mechanical engineering arranged industrial visit at Avalon Power Pvt Ltd, Urmodi, Satara on 23rd February 2024.
