Mechanical engineering is a broad and diversified engineering discipline. It is concerned with the application of the fundamental principles and laws of nature to the conception, design, manufacturing and operation of all kinds of mechanical devices and systems. Technically, mechanical engineering is the application of the principles and problem-solving techniques of engineering from design to manufacturing to the marketplace for any object. Mechanical engineers analyze their work using the principles of motion, energy, and force—ensuring that designs function safely, efficiently, and reliably, all at a competitive cost. Mechanical engineers make a difference. That's because mechanical engineering careers center on creating technologies to meet human needs. Virtually every product or service in modern life has probably been touched in some way by a mechanical engineer to help humankind. This includes solving today's problems and creating future solutions in health care, energy, transportation, world hunger, space exploration, climate change, and more. Being ingrained in many challenges and innovations across many fields means a mechanical engineering education is versatile. To meet this broad demand, mechanical engineers may design a component, a machine, a system, or a process. This ranges from the macro to the micro, from the largest systems like cars and satellites to the smallest components like sensors and switches. Anything that needs to be manufactured indeed, anything with moving parts needs the expertise of a mechanical engineer.

Mechanical Engineering Department is started in the year 2013. The department is having excellent infrastructure with modern well equipped laboratories. There are 6 well qualified, experienced and dedicated faculties. This department has produced many qualified engineers for mechanical industry. Students undergoing Mechanical Engineering course have a universal acceptance in all types of industries. It is factual belief in industrial sector that a Mechanical Engineer is a versatile person. These students prefer to start their career as production supervisors on shop floor and acquire managerial positions.

They have voluminous opportunities in Research & Development, design, production and maintenance departments of the Industries. They can start their own workshop or Industry. The passed out students of this course hold positions of great responsibility in the industries. Few of them have become Entrepreneurs by establishing their own Industrial Units.

Overview of Department

Mechanical engineering is a professional program which helps students to understand the working mechanisms of heavy tools and machineries. The branch applies principles of engineering, physics and material science for the design, analysis, manufacturing and maintenance of mechanical systems. Mechanical engineering demands knowledge about software used in technical work like computer-aided design and mathematical modeling.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA for Diploma in Mechanical Engineering:

For First Year Admission: - Candidate Should have passed Class X with minimum 35% marks

For Direct Second Year Admission:- Candidate Should have passed Class XII Science with minimum 35% marks OR Should have passed 2 Year ITI Course from government affiliated institute.
